You’re Under the Rock If You Can’t See Education Is a Misfit

Look at the world outside school — the world where parents see their children flourish on their own steam. While school systems believe they are the originator of steam.

The world moves fast; education moves slow. In the real-world people solve problems, adapt, use tools, and figure things out; education program learners to become knowledge consumers.

It does not matter whether you are a national or provincial minister of education, head of department, political leader, school governing body member, professor at a university, headmaster, HOD, teacher, journalist, have a leading function in a teacher union or a home-schooler — if you don’t see it, you are under the rock.

If you can see it and do nothing, you are part of the problem and responsible.

The solution is to lead where you are planted with the knowledge that the brain has inborn Thinking Tools which children use to create their steam.

Acknowledge that if teachers are allowed to explain work whether it is explaining the structure of an atom or the steps of a sum, it is a motion of no confidence in their figure out abilities of which there is ample proof of outside school.

This is the Achilles’ heel of education.

Step out from under the rock. Start developing Figure-Outers.

If you are national or provincial minister of education, head of department, political leader, school governing body member, headmaster, HOD, teacher, journalist or have a leading function in a teacher union and see the problem, act now.
