What can you expect from the course

You can expect that your learners will work harder, and you will work less.

Your classroom management and discipline will improve because the Thinking Tools approach is founded on good relationships, guidance and bonding with learners.

Your learners’ marks will increase, and they will become more motivated to learn.

NOTHING in this course relates to how you were trained as a teacher. EACH of the topics is exciting new and you can expect a number of paradigm shifts.

Within the first session you will learn why your current teaching practices are not bearing fruit as you expected and why your teaching dreams did not come true.

You will discover that the brain has innate Thinking Tools and how to empower your learners to use them in mastering your subject. This will enable them to classify themes

into logical categories, determine cause and effect, compare and contrast, discover sequences and patterns.

You will empower learners to become knowledge creators instead of being knowledge consumers.

Your teaching style will immediately change because you will know how to keep your learners' attention.

Your learners will use Thinking Tools in all their subjects, including languages and maths.

If your grade 2 and 3 learners are still struggling to read, you will learn how and where to correct it. The learning to read section follows the phonics method and not the

sight word method. The sound method is in line with the wiring of the brain. Because the children learn to read according to the brain's wiring, they read

more fluently and with intonation. They will also learn to read with comprehension.

There are Thinking Tools methods to enable your learners to generate words for sentences and paragraphs in easier ways that will later help them writing essays.

The Thinking Tools method will empower your learners to master the parts of speech without you explaining it over and over. There is a particular technique that

makes it easy for them to write sentences and paragraphs. This together with other Thinking Tools will empower them to do better with simple and later more

difficult comprehension tests.

There are Thinking Tools techniques to enable them to read analogue and digital time more easily. It is based on the children's innate chronosensor (time sensor) which

you will learn more about and how to develop it. Once learners' chornosensor has received the necessary attention, they will no longer struggle to read

time.

Besides the techniques for multiplication tables, time, addition and subtraction which are aimed at understanding and not just following steps, there are techniques for

doing word sums. The big problem with word sums is that the children do not understand the sum itself which is the main reason why they are struggling with

word sums. Thinking Tools has a step-by-step thinking method that helps them to first understand the sum before doing the sum.

You will also learn the Thinking Tools method to let children discover fractions and to do fraction sums in grade 3 after they have discovered equivalent fractions

themselves.

There is a bonus English session with an expert on teaching English as well as well as recommendations to other learn-to-read courses.

Why do children perform better with Thinking Tools?

They learn to:

  • Finding and classifying and ordering information.
  • Identify analogies, for example birds have feathers as mammals have fur AND that a fire is hot as ice is cold.
  • Compare and contrast things when they identify similarities and differences.
  • Detecting cause and effect.
  • Unpack logical process sequences such a life cycles.

Because you will use five different teaching methods after completion of the course, your learners will be able to demonstrate communication ethics, disciplined social

interaction, leadership, teamwork and norms and values. This facilitates creative and co-creative thinking which allows learners to experience success which leads to increase classroom discipline and motivated learners.
